The Hard Candy Review

My Dear Friends,

I'm going to have to periodically update this review throughout the day, since Friday is a very busy day at work. I'll probably have to post a little but and then come back to it later, but it will be finished today:)

I went home last night and played with all the products I got. I had a lot of fun mixing colors and ways to use the items....on with the review!

Blush Crush Baked Blush in "Honeymoon" - First off, the color is very beautiful. It's a light pink/peach shimmer with lavender accents that puts a glow effect on the cheeks. (It is neither brown nor orange tinted.) I would consider it a highlighter more than a true blush, due to the shimmer and lightness of this particular color. I found it looked best when used on the apples of the cheeks. You do get a good amount of product on your brush with one swipe, which means your blush should last a while. The only real "con" that I found is that it doesn't come with a blush brush. I'm going to be honest- I usually throw those tiny things away, but for those who don't, it could be a potential problem.
Final Thought
: Great for highlighting, but I'd use a blush under it and make this the highlighter on top for that extra glow. White round pop open compact with black swirlies is pleasing on the eyes. ($7)

Ginormous Lash Volumizing Mascara in Dime. - Dime is a grey/silver mascara, almost a gun metal color. The applicator brush is plastic with many combs to grab each lash. The brush itself is particularly long so you have many angles at which to go about application. I had to use two coats to get a noticeable color, but it did a good job lengthening my lashes. They have seven total shades to try; Stash, Electric Blue, Carbon Black, Dime, Mudslide, Purple Haze, and Blackout). I'm excited to try the Electric Blue and Purple Haze colors, because I would like to see what it looks like just done on the outer lashes for a little extra "pop".
Final Thought
: I'm not sure how I feel about grey/silver lashes. I think I would like something a little brighter for my eyes, as I've said before, I really like to play up the eyes. If you are in the mood for something subdued, pick this color. The packaging is very nice. In this line, the tube matches the color of the product inside! ($6)

Fortune Telling Lip Gloss in Destiny. - The "Fortune Telling" line of glosses is done in cute 8-Ball packaging with corresponding names. The one I have is a peachy/pink clear type gloss, and it coordinates really well with the above mentioned "Honeymoon" blush. It has a very appealing smell, like fresh peaches. The applicator is a sponge tipped brush which applies evenly and without being gummy. Once it dries, it has a glass-like sheen on your lips and a pleasing peach note if you happen to lick your lips. It is a fairly good sized gloss tube, so you definitely get your money's worth.
Final Thought: I honestly love it. I like that it is almost a lip-colored gloss, with a good amount of shine. The peach scent makes it more appealing to me. Stays on for a good while and is not sticky. The tube is really cute, with a white lid, 8-Ball designs & swirlies. ($6)

In The Shadows Eyeshadow Collection in Splendid/Foiled Again. - I have the collection known at Hard Candy's website as "Splendid" and at Wal-Mart as "Foiled Again"...not sure why there are two different names, but whatever! The 5 color collection that I have has Black, Grey, Purple, Dark Blue, & White eye shadows and came with a free primer tube. This collection is perfect if you want a dramatic eye. It is pigmented well, and you don't have to use a lot to get the desired color.
Final Thought: This set brings the drama. You can get a smoky, seductive eye that is sure to make you look hot! The colors work really well together and the packaging is really effective. The packaging is book style, with magnetic closures so it stays shut until it needs to be opened. ($7)

Just Nails Nail Color in Frenzy. - To say that I quickly became obsessed with this color is an understatement. Pantone declared that the official color of 2010 is turquoise, so this will work perfectly for you if you are in the mood for bright, pretty color! I used one coat on my fingers & toes and that is all I needed. It is a creamy turquoise color that when dry is already very glossy. (It looks like you've put a top coat on.) It is a very unique color, with smooth application and beautiful pigmentation!
Final Thought: Hands down, I love this color. It's very vibrant, very spring. Goes on evenly and with just one coat! The packaging is adorable. Each bottle comes with the signature plastic ring that matches the shade. Too cute. ($5)

End Note: I will be buying more of this fantastic brand! I think that they have a lot to offer and cater to all types of women out there! Head over to your Wal-Mart to check it out!

I actually tried out one of the shadow packs that is like a little book and comes with a mini liner and it was ok, but not very pigmented... but I did try out the primer, and it is AWESOME. like the smashbox photofinish stuff, but a LOT cheaper. I am loving it.

I didn't try the 3 pack with the liner. the one I got was a 5 pack with the primer. the colors i got were a little too dark for me, as i (for some reason! grrr!) have naturally dark circles under my eyes always! i like lighter, brighter colors usually!
