Rudi's Organic Bakery - Incredible Breads!

My Dear Friends,

Rudi's Organic Bakery sent me four loaves of bread to try out: Spelt Ancient Grain, Sourdough, Cinnamon Raisin, & Whole Wheat.

Here's a little information about Rudi's from their website:
"Finding the bright side to a situation is easy if you know where to look.
Over 30 years ago, the founders of Rudi’s Organic couldn’t find a bread that was good enough to make their families happy. They had a healthy, holistic & optimistic approach to life and believed that eating healthy went along with being happy. They wanted food, and specifically bread, that fit this belief.
In 1976, Rudi’s Organic Bakery was founded. We wanted a bread with heart & purpose behind it, not a corporation. We knew there had to be a way to make bread nutritious and delicious – it just hadn’t been discovered yet. Our breads needed to have a list of ingredients you could pronounce with ingredients you recognized. It was to be the perfect blend of whole ingredients blended with a dash of sunshine, baked with love and delivered with a smile… and maybe some fresh butter.
It wasn’t long after our humble beginnings in Boulder, Colorado before Rudi’s fresh, organic breads quickly stood out in the sea of sameness that was the bread aisle. Our delicious breads were being gobbled up by the community not just for their wholesomeness and taste, but also for the local flavor that was baked into every batch. It was the biggest innovation in bread, since…well, sliced bread. Our passion for baking better breads, the right way, is alive and well today.
We’ve been making the lives of families healthier & happier simply by baking their small batch breads a brighter way for thirty four years. Our organic breads bring health, optimism, and a little fun not only to our families, but to families everywhere just by baking on the bright side."

Each of these products contains 4-5g protein and 2-3g fiber per serving. Double those numbers if you’ll be eating two slices, open-faced or sandwich-style. These breads are also low in sugar and also contain no saturated or trans. fats. Each product also contains a quite a few vitamins and minerals.

The Spelt Ancient Grain Bread did not go over too well. It has a seedy, chewy texture that I couldn't get past.  I have never liked seeds in or on my bread.  This bread has a hearty, nutty flavor.  If you like flavors like this, however, it might be perfect for you.  The bread has a firm, dense texture which would be perfect for hearty sandwiches.

The Cinnamon Raisin Bread was a big hit.  There were plenty of juicy raisins, but not too many that you'd feel overloaded.  My favorite way to eat this delicious bread was to toast it and then either put butter or cream cheese on it.  Tasty!  It was also really good used as the bread for making French Toast!

The Whole Wheat was a big winner.  I have some friends who agreed to help me with this review, and they loved it.  They said they made some wonderful grilled cheese sandwiches with this bread!  It is a versatile bread that would work with just about any sandwich!

My personal favorite, though, was the Sourdough!  Man, is it good!  I made some fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches the other day using this bread.  I also used it, lightly toasted, when I made hamburgers recently.  Yum!

I feel that Rudi’s Organic Bakery is a great company with products that are high-quality, delicious, and can be used many different ways. These breads also freeze and unfreeze easily, and without any "frozen" taste.  Rudi's also offers a Gluten-Free line, as well as Buns, Rolls, Torillas, Wraps, Bagels & English Muffins!

Use their convenient "Where To Buy" feature to find the closest place near you to get this delicious bread!

*I was given 4 loaves of Rudi's Organic Bakery bread to try and review.  I was not given any money for this review and these opinions are my honest & true ones.
