Friend Friday - Blogging

My Dear Friends,

I'm following Friend Friday, which I read at Kimberly over at Fab Finds Under $50's blog, where she shares her Friend Friday details too!

1. How has your blog changed over the months/years you've been blogging?
In the past, well, almost a year now, I went from a "don't have to spend alot to look like you did" blog to a daily (except for weekends) post on ways to save money, look great, where the deals are, coupon codes, reviews & giveaways kind of blog.  I am a little bit of everything, I guess, and I like it that way.  I'm not held down by my "genre" of posting.

2. What was one thing you did wrong in the beginning and how have you changed that?I don't think I did anything wrong, other than I should have discovered the wonder that are blog hops sooner.  I've gained so many great followers that way!

3. When you visit a blog what's the greatest turn off? The thing that makes you close the tab?
I like blogs where I can identify with the writer, & I really love craft blogs and blogs that promote great sales.  I love a good deal.  I'll close the tab if the content bores me or it's something that I have no way of identifying with.

4. How did you find your voice?
I write about what I'd like someone to tell ME about.  If it interests me, surely it interests someone else out there!  I like saving money, and I love shopping, so I'm trying to combine the two!

5. If you had three pieces of advice to give to a new blogger what would those be?

I agree with Kimberly on these, so I'm going to ditto her answers!
1/ Do it because you want to and not with the hopes that you will become the next Sea of Shoes or Tavi hitting up Fashion Week.
2/ Look at lots of different blogs and get a feel for what attracts you visually and incorporate some of those ideas on your blog.
3/ Don't expect readers and commenters overnight. There are a bazillion blogs out there, you will find your niche and the fans will come in time.
