Elizabeth Taylor: The Last Movie Star

My Dear Friends,

Elizabeth Taylor passed away this morning.  Having been enamored with her since I was a little girl, I can't help but feel a little sadness today.  I remember watching National Velvet & thinking "My god, she's just completely stunning."  Did you know that she was born with a double set of eyelashes?  It's considered a genetic mutation but was one that made her violet eyes stand out remarkably.

No one could throw shade like Elizabeth Taylor.  You knew when she was displeased.  She had that "look" that she threw that made you want to back off.  She was picturesque, flawless in every photo she took.  She had an old Hollywood glamour that is not seen these days.
She had a much publicized private life, including eight marriages (Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor Hilton Wilding Todd Fisher Burton Burton Warner Fortensky) and several near death experiences.  Taylor was considered one of the great actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age. The American Film Institute named Taylor seventh on its Female Legends list.

Here are some great articles & photo galleries of the late, great Elizabeth:

"Damn right I survived, I've been through it all.
I'm Mother Courage.
I'll be dragging my sable coat behind me into old age."
