Dress Shopping @ OASAP

My Dear Friends,

I recently discovered an online retailer called OASAP.  I immediately fell in love!  The designs are right up my alley.  I wear a lot of dresses and was very impressed with how unique their designs were.

What a great place to shop!  The selection is huge - I was drawn in my page after page of gorgeous dresses!  When OASAP gave me the opportunity to review for them, I was thrilled!

Then I thought....how in the world am I ever going to narrow it down?  What a problem to have!  After looking through their enormous selection, I finally narrowed it down to two dresses:  The Sheer Sleeveless Bound Waist Mini Dress & the Elegant Splicing Dress w/ Medium Sleeves.

The Sheer Sleeveless Bound Waist Mini Dress is a lovely cotton dress, done in the popular skater style, with a Peter Pan Collar and sheer detail around the neck.  It features a bound waist and is mini length cut.  This dress retails for just $29.  In this photo I paired with with a simple black cardigan (click photo to enlarge).
One Size:
Bust: 90-100cm
Length: 85cm
Waist: 70-80cm
*Below are some of the various ways that I'd style this dress:

The Elegant Splicing Dress w/ Medium Sleeves is such a whimsical, flirty dress.  Made with chiffon and featuring a round elasticated flouncing neckline, it is designed with medium sleeves and a single breasted, slim fit.  It also features a removable bowknot embellishment.  This dress retails for just $37.  In this photo I paired it with a simple brown cardigan (click photo to enlarge).

Chevron Cuties

My Dear Friends,

I simply cannot get enough of the chic chevron trend!  I want the rugs, pillows, kitchen items....I want it all!  I want the chevron shoes, shirts & purses... In fact, I'd really like a chevron purse.  I went searching; scouring the web for the best & the boldest of the chevron camp --- and since I am fashion yet budget conscious --- all of these bags are under $50!

It's An Arm Party!

My Dear Friends,

Check out what I'm rocking today:)  I love a good arm party and I'm pretty happy with today's bracelets.  I've labeled where you can get each from in the photo below.
I really love the look of multiple bracelets stacked on top of each other.  It's so much more fun!  Plus it adds a cool punch to any outfit!

I'm particularly happy about my newest addition - the Distinctive Zip Shaped Bracelet from Oasap.  It was only $12!  I've got the zip bracelets from Jewelmint, but honestly, I like this one better.  It's wider so it's easier to get over your wrist and the bracelet detail is better, in my opinion.  The bracelet is made of alloy and is 6.5cm in diameter.  You can get it in antique copper, black or silver!  Seriously, it's too cute not to have one!

I received the distinctive zip shaped bracelet from oasap.com in exchange for an honest review.
No money exchanged hands and all opinions are my own.  Thank you, Oasap!

Livening up your bedroom... (feat. Oldrids & Downtown)

My Dear Friends,

I've been in this creative rut lately.  I'm bored with everything.  Maybe I need to do something to get inspired?  Maybe I should paint or redecorate my room?  It is the room that I spend the most time in at home, so maybe it would help me get inspired when I see all the fresh colors & decorations?

What do I want, though?  Do I want a classic look or a more modern one?  I know I want a new bed frame.  I've been thinking about it for a while.  The bed frame really ties a room together, so I first need to decide what look I'm going for.  I know that the Tempur brand is an excellent one, so I picked out a couple that I like.  Which one do you like best?

While I'm at it, I could get a new chest of drawers!  I need something that is good for small spaces, but still provides enough room for my folded clothing.  Here are a few of my favorites:

I haven't had a bedside chest since I was a little girl.  I have to admit, I do like the look of a small table or chest on either side of the bed; possibly with a lamp or pretty decorations on each?  These compliment the dressers pictured above.

A little new furniture can change the look of a whole room!  What are some things you've done to liven up your space?  I'd love to hear about them!

Style Me!

My Dear Friends,

We're back with another segment of "Style Me", where you pick the product & I style it for you!  We worked with Sarah of East 9th Street last week, who has a few blouses that she was unsure how to style.  Last week we worked with a ruffled black collared blouse from Daniel Cremieux.  This week we are working with a lime green cami tank with rosettes, also by Daniel Cremieux.

Sarah said that Dillard's is the only major department store in her area & that she really favors the Daniel Cremieux brand sold there.  Please keep in mind that I am a budget friendly blogger and all items I use in these style sets are under $50.  Links are also provided to where you can purchase these items if you so choose.  Below are a few ways I'd style "Blouse #2".

Style Me!

My Dear Friends,

I'd long been thinking about doing a "Style Me" type segment on the blog, but wasn't sure if there would be any interest.  Well, when Sarah from East 9th Street commented on one of my posts saying she liked the way I styled an outfit & asking if I could style her - I jumped at the chance!

Sarah has a few blouses that she's unsure how to style.  Over the next couple of days, I'll offer style tips and fashion ideas on how to wear these tops.  Hopefully she'll like them!

Sarah said that Dillard's is the only major department store in her area & that she really favors the Daniel Cremieux brand.  Both the shirt I'm going to style today and the one that will post on Monday, Sarah got at a steal - but they've just been sitting in her closet, waiting to be worn.

Please keep in mind that I am a budget friendly blogger and all items I use in these style sets are under $50.  Links are also provided to where you can purchase these items if you so choose.  Below are a few ways I'd style "Blouse #1".

So....what do you think?  What other ways might you wear this blouse?  I think this blouse is quite versatile; it can go from casual to semi-formal, you just need the right accessories!  Would you like to be featured in a "Style Me" segment?  I'd love to work with you!  If you're interested, please fill out the 'Contact Me' form & I'll get back with you ASAP!

At Home Bar Essentials (feat. Crosbys)

My Dear Friends,

For years now, I've wanted a small bar in my home.  Not some big gaudy tiki bar kind of set up, though.  No, more of a classy, Mad Men style.  You know, pretty glassware and cute little bar stools....

something snazzy, like this...

I've been thinking about it lately; what would I buy if I had this longed-for bar?  I checked out Crosbys to peruse their extensive collection of glassware and bar tools.

I had never heard of polycarbonate glassware before, but it seems like an excellent thing to invest in if you're wanting to build a nice collection.  In my experiences, people get less coordinated when they drink.  Having virtually unbreakable glassware would be an excellent solution to the "oops, I spilled my drink & broke your glass" issue!

I'm also digging some of their genware products.  Every at-home bar needs things like drink strainers & bottle openers, cocktail skakers & glass rimmers.  I'd need all of those things!  Oh, and wouldn't it be cute to have a little drink stand with napkins, drink picks & colorful straws?!  It would be so cool to have the bottle with the fancy pourers on them, too!  (Can you tell I like to play hostess?)

Do any of you have home bars?  If so, are there any essentials that I missed?  If you don't have a home bar, would you ever think about having one in your home?  For me, it just seems like a throwback to an older era.  I like the nostalgic feeling that it invokes.  Being your own bartender, making fun drinks for your friends...it all seems very fun to me!

This post contains links to Crosbys.
This post was monetarily compensated but the work was my own & all opinions are my own.

Autism Speaks Help Request

My Dear Friends,

Understanding how little funding there is for autism research may better illustrate the importance of our fundraising efforts.  Did you know that autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood disorders and diseases?

Prevalence VS. Private Funding
   • Leukemia: Affects 1 in 1,200 / Funding: $277 million
   • Muscular Dystrophy: Affects 1 in 100,000 / Funding: $162 million
   • Pediatric AIDS: Affects 1 in 300 / Funding: $394 million
   • Juvenile Diabetes: Affects 1 in 500 / Funding: $156 million
   • Autism: Affects 1 in 88 / Funding: $79 million

I understand that it is difficult to ask people for donations.  I'm only posting about this once, because I don't want you to feel like I'm pestering you.  You don't have to help at all.  If you did, though, you'd be donating directly to Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated solely to autism research.

Every 11 minutes, another family receives the devastating
news that their child has an autism spectrum disorder.

I am walking in the 2012 Walk Now For Autism Speaks in October.  My goal is to raise $500 or more in donations.   I want to be part of the solution!

If you feel compelled to help me in this important cause, please check out my Autism Speaks Sponsor Page or use the donation button below.  Please note that 100% of your donation goes directly to Autism Speaks.

About Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, to funding research into the causes, prevention and treatments for autism, and to advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. It was founded in February 2005 by Suzanne and Bob Wright, the grandparents of a child with autism. Bob Wright is Senior Advisor at Lee Equity Partners and served as vice chairman, General Electric, and chief executive officer of NBC for more than twenty years. To learn more about Autism Speaks, please visit www.autismspeaks.org.

Walk Now for Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is proud of our signature fundraising event which brings together hundreds of thousands of participants annually across the United States and Canada with a common goal of supporting Autism Speaks. This change strengthens the marketing efforts around the Walk program by more directly branding the walks with our name, effectively eliminating any confusion with other autism walks around the world.
Powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum, this successful grassroots fundraising effort not only generates vital funds for autism research but also raises awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder.  To see a current list of walk sites please visit www.walknowforautismspeaks.org

I believe in the importance of thanking people that have made donations.  When someone makes a donation to my team, I will send you a personal Thank-You Note as well as a special Autism Awareness bracelet from my Etsy shop.

Please help in donating to this wonderful and important cause.  Thank you!

FITF ♥'s JULEP {review & giveaway}

My Dear Friends,

I am proud to be a Julep Maven!  Would you like to be one too?

You may be asking yourself "What is Julep?".  It just so happens that I'm here to answer that for you!  I signed up for the monthly Julep box which, based on my preferences, ships two gorgeous nail polishes & a goodie OR three polishes (the It Girl profile always has three polishes) to my door every month!

A 'Julep Maven' always gets 20% off all products on the site PLUS free shipping for every order.  Around the 20th of each month, you'll get an email from Julep that previews the upcoming box.  If you like what you see, you don't have to do anything - they'll ship it out for you.  If you want to try a different box, send a box to a friend, or simply skip the month, just log in to your account between 20th-24th and change your preferences.  You are charged on the 27th of each month, which is the same day your Maven Box ships!  It's that simple!

If you want to connect with Julep, you could visit via

One of the things I love about Julep is that they donate a portion of proceeds from products sold to organizations that support women through the Powered By Girlfriends Program.  They also follow what they like to call 'The Girlfriends Oath', which means that their products promise to be toxin free!

(This is what I call my "Summer Sno-Cone Mani".  It was created using
Julep "Robin", Julep "Oscar", Julep "Natasha" & Petites "Lime Green".)
You can also find this mani liked up at Glitter & Gloss for Mani Monday.

I ordered the July "Bombshell" Box.  It features the Julep Best Pedi Creme Ever, Oscar Nail Vernis & Natasha Nail Vernis.

The Best Pedi Creme Ever exfoloiates with alpha hydroxy acids, hydrates with shea butter and coconut oil and nourishes with vitamin E.  Apply nightly for noticeable results in just 1-2 uses!

The Oscar Nail Vernis is a light multi dimensional gold glitter that works as a lovely top coat on top of other polish, or as a stand alone stunner!

The Natasha Nail Vernis is a bright, intense red-orange.  I've always had a problem finding a good red, as I really don't like pink-red colors, but this bottle is the perfect bright orange-red that I've been looking for!

I am absolutely thrilled with my Julep Box!  I love both of my colors and the pedi creme is perfect thing to use for your at-home pedi!

WANT TO GET YOUR JULEP BOX FOR ONLY ONE CENT?!
